One of my all time favorites, the microplane zester/grater
(pictured above) makes zesting fun, easy, and best of all
FAST. I put zest in everything now! Also works for grating
ginger, Parmesan, nutmeg, or anything you want really
fine. There's now a whole line of microplane products to
choose from and they're reasonably priced for the quality.
Made in the USA.

I found one of these timers at Kiss
The Cook in RED (Too cute). It's
claim to fame:  It has options! This
little jewel can be set to flash,
vibrate, or ring, or any combination
of those three things. It's nice to
have the option of a silent alarm . . .
Scared me to death though the first
time I had it clipped to my shirt and
it started to flash and vibrate!

I must admit an addiction to culinary gadgets. Here are some favorites that I
won't part with. While waiting for the bread to rise (I actually do bake
occasionally even though I say I don't) there's nothing better than a good
book. Most of these have some good recipes to boot!

High heat spatulas and baking mats made
of silicone were the fore-runners to this
phenomenon. It's great. It works. It's
colorful. It goes in the dishwasher! The
kitchen mits can be awkward, but are good
for grabbing a handful of veggies out of
boiling water when blanching. The pot
holders double as colorful trivets. There
are even baking "pans" (not one of my
favorites) and basting brushes - Yeah! No
more trying to wash oil out of boar bristles
- Just put them in the dishwasher please
and THANK YOU!

I must confess an addiction to copper
cookware. This one was a gift from my
sweetie. He got it at William Sonoma.
Yikes! Wonder what that cost?!
My favorite salt/pepper/spice mill -
One model has a ceramic grinding
mechanism and will not carode when
using salt. Comes in Black, White, or
Cool Aqua Clear! Great gift idea.
